I love reading your critiques. And interesting about The Secret Life of Bees! I remember everyone and their brother was reading that right when I started grad school. I’m always suspicious of book trends, partially because I’m cranky and suspicious in general, and partially because I used to work at a used bookstore and got really tired of telling every other customer that no, we did not have a whole shelf of copies of the latest hip thing. Anyway, this is all to say I’m glad it turned out to be so good. :)
