a holly jolly christmas
I hope everyone is recovering from the Christmas/Hanukah blitz and getting ready for New Year’s! My Christmas week was busy, but really good. Actual knitting content is at the end, in case you want to scroll down . . . I promise.
feeling the love
I always knew knitters were good souls. I knew they were a generous bunch. And when I was feeling low last week, I knew I could turn to some tried-and-true bloggers, who’ve known me from almost the very start, for some sympathy, emails, and more people to gmail chat with if I needed.
I didn’t expect the amazing responses I’ve gotten–from thoughtful suggestions for what to knit, to taking the time to share personal stories with me, and now? Sending me care packages!!
retail therapy + gastronomy = happy girl
Today was all about treating myself. Treating myself to whatever I wanted. And boy did it feel good!

When I cast on for the second Zephirine sock, I was spending a girls’ weekend discussing life and boys and the works, and I guess I was pretty distracted, because I had to restart it three times (I kept increasing wrong). Well, I got on the bus to Maryland for Thanksgiving and was merrily knitting along, and then I realized that I’d ultimately cast on more stitches than I had for the first sock!
So much for taking “better notes.” Maybe I should start taking “any notes.”
