I’m so happy it’s finally May, and the Project Spectrum color is green! My life is exploding with green. Orange and yellow made for a really tough month—it was a real challenge to find those colors in my world. Green, however, could not be any easier.
First the Sunrise must be redone. Then . . . um, I guess that was the only one of my disappointments. The “then” leads right into the current problem. Hm. Guess my subject line should be reworked. No, it’s a stronger statement like this, so I’m going to leave it. Oh, don’t mind me while I talk to myself for a bit.
ThereĆ¢’s been some movement on the redo of the Sunrise Circle Jacket. I considered carefully the persistent sage advice of Rachel, who emailed me more than once to encourage me to simply buy new yarn and start fresh rather than take it out. It might seem as if I’m making a joke (ha! this was advice I had to consider!), but I’m really not—I thought for a while about this. Buying new yarn wasn’t going to break the bank—just 9 hanks of Wool of the Andes is $16—and it would be a whole lot easier—but it seemed wasteful somehow, so I didn’t go out and buy new yarn right away.
I had a busy weekend in NYC, concentrated on food and friends, but I did manage to squeeze in some knitting-related activities.
My knitting was woefully ignored on the train ride up; I opted instead to do some puzzles. I did finish the heel flap on my second pair of pomatomus, however, on the train ride back.
But, it just occurred to me to ask: What are the cool yarn stores in NYC? I’m heading up this afternoon to visit with a friend prior to bridal shower festivities Saturday night. My friend, who I haven’t seen in months, and I will be hanging out all day Saturday, and I thought if there were a yarn store in Manhattan that was highly recommended, I could steer us in that direction. She’s not a knitter, though I’ve taught her and she is always saying she needs a refresher. I’ve read so many great NYC blogs that talk about LYSs but the store names never imprinted on me! Purl? Any comments between now and tomorrow morning will be much appreciated!
