eye candy friday
Yeah, so–it’s summer. I’ve got better things to do than knit.
Tradition.
The word of beach week with my extended family is tradition. Those experiences that we’ve come to rely on year after year.
She’s just as sweet and delightful, though. I don’t know why, but I had it in my head that Jennie was going to tower over me. Turns out she’s just a little taller than me (or about the same height; we were not on completely level ground for the photo).
I’ve been in and out of New York lately–Philly, Delaware–and then away on a business trip during the week last week. And I’ve barely been knitting. But happily that business trip (a workshop retreat) was in a gorgeous place. The Mohonk Mountainhouse in Mohonk, NY, was like something out of either The Shining or Dirty Dancing. I know those two movies aren’t usually confused, but believe me.
Mom gets a lot of blog-time, probably because she’s a knitter and she attends fiber festivals with me. But my dad is really awesome, too–he coined the catchphrase “2007: The Year of Erin,” and he’s just generally supportive and kind and interesting to talk to. I searched my archives and I’m sad to see I rarely take photos of dad–will have to start making up for that when I see him next! For now, Happy Father’s Day, dad!
