eye candy friday

Just yesterday I was blogsurfing, and I read about PurlyWhite’s Eye Candy Friday. I love this idea, because lately I’ve been stopping to take shots of the absurd things I see around the city. No longer do I pass something and think “I wish I had a picture of that”—now I actually stop and pull out the camera. It’s how I got those shots of the strange knitted boots.

A few weeks ago, on my way to work, I came across this horrifying sight:

welcome to the new home of pepperknit!

Hey, it’s me, Minty, known as Erin in the real world, and I bit the bullet and bought the domain pepperknit.com. I’ll be blogging from here now; please update your bookmarks, blogfeeds, etc.

This is still very much a work in progress, and the site will continue to grow and develop over time. It’s amazing how long it takes to get it all together. Eventually you can expect to click on the left sidebar to find:

  • A gallery of photos, and not just finished objects
  • A page with info about me, for people who are new to the site
  • A page devoted to patterns, both free and (hopefully, soon) worth some money

We’ll see where it goes. I’m tweaking the code and playing around, so please bear with me and feel free to offer suggestions.

adding to the stash

I actually have a fairly small stash of yarn, though if you were to ask my boyfriend he’d have something different to say. I haven’t forced him to sit and look at bloggers’ photos of their stashes as a comparison, but trust me: I don’t have a ton of yarn that was purchased with no project in mind. For the most part, I decide on a project and buy the yarn. So I have lots of leftover bits, but never enough to make an entire something.

Until a week and a half ago, when I was inspired to buy some sock yarn “just because.” Just because it was so reasonably priced. Just because the colors were so pretty. Just because I could.
