project runway
I finally watched this week’s episode (part 1 of the finale). The following is not a spoiler, just some Laura love:
I adore that when Tim asked for their receipts, Laura apparently had a spreadsheet. (You don’t see it in the episode at all; Tim mentions it in his podcast.) That’s the kind of thing I would have done!
There are some of you with spreadsheets cataloging all your stash–I haven’t gone that route yet. I should have made one when I did the massive stash purge, but I can do it upon move-in, I suppose! I have so little, I’m not sure it’s all that necessary, but I actually think it would be fun to do, if I had some time to devote to it.

I do love a spreadsheet, but for me it was more helpfl to have a stash page on my blog, with pictures, so that I could remember what was what. On the other hand, it’d be much easier to carry a spreadsheet around than my computer, if I’m ever at the yarn store and need to remember what I have.
Honestly, I think just regularly visiting and pawing my stash is enough for me to keep track. My stash isn’t large enough for me to forget about its contents. I also buy sweater-quantities for specific projects only, so again, it is rare that I forget. I do have a needle inventory spreadsheet. It has yet to be useful, but I have been diligent with keeping it up.
How weird–I spent yesterday evening putting fabric into an online inventory spreadsheet. It’s early enough in the stash building that I can keep up if I start now…I think.
Hope everything’s well with the new job!
Yes I’m all about Laura, too. Gotta love her and her take charge attitude! Love your blog as well…
Thank God that I am not the only one who has Exceled her stash! I was a little worried about my mental state the day I woke up and thought, I can’t wait to organize and catalogue my yarn! I feel better now.
