putting a spring in my step
I got a request for the full songlist of the CD that Rachel gave me, and here it is. I finally listened to the album in the past few days–I’d been unable to locate the cord to connect my ipod to the computer, but then it turned up next to my bed, not where i thought to look. Anyway, the album is awesome, and it quite often put a silly smile on my face. It exposed me to a few artists that are new to me, and I will definitely be looking for other things by them. Mix tapes are awesome that way–sometims I don’t want to listen to a whole album by someone new, but a mix gives me enough of a taste that I am hungry for more. Thanks again to Rachel, with Ashley‘s input. Oh, and I’m not going to link all these artists; you can put them in the search engine of your choice!

In the last few years since I have been relegated to the Raffi and Laurie Berkner crowd, my sister had regularly made me rockin’ CDs to keep me a little hip to the new music. Strangely, the last CD she made me featured that same John Denver song too. Weird!
How fun! The Rusted Root song brings back memories. I used to listen to that CD all the time in college because I loved the upbeat drumming :)
what a great mix! And who doesn’t love Moxie Fruvous? Reminds me of college. Anyway… thought i’d give you a heads up that post-holidays, i’m gonna organize some kind of yarn/mix CD swap. Seems like so many of us love music, and I’ve been so out of the loop lately, and in desperate need of new music. I’ll let you know when I’ve figured out how this whole dealie-o will work.
YOU SAY…
ah, memories.
I love Bird house in your Soul. That song just makes me smile!
oh man you’ve got some great stuff on that CD…of course the monkees. i’ve loved them since i was wearing tutus…;)
the gypsy kings…they might be giants (i like that song the best too) … rusted root….
very nice.
Oh my, I think I recognize two songs on that list :) I guess I’ll have to listen to this cd when you come home. Looking forward to having you home :)
Ooooh, so many of my old favorites – especially Come a Long Way. There is no song better than that!!
Wow. That Moxy song brings me back. Great list! HWJF is a huge TMBG fan so I now have many of those songs running through my head.
Happy songs! Great idea.
Happy Holidays to ya!
Well you know that Take Me Home Country Roads has a very deep significance to me, being a native West Virginian, so I’m glad to see the Word of John is still being spread, 25 years since the song came out. It never fails to bring a misty tear to my eye!
Man, I wish I’d had that on my 10-hour drive yesterday. How do I not have Birdhouse on my ipod?
I can’t tell you how happy it makes me that the music made YOU happy. It was fun for me to make and I’ve actually been getting lots of use out of it too. Cheerful music is a good thing. Thanks for sharing the cheer with others!
