a lovely afternoon

I skipped out on work this afternoon (well, took a half vacation day) and walked over to Borders. The weather today is particularly nice, so I turned my ipod on and made my way. I looked at a bunch of knitting magazines and have confirmed my love for Interweave Knits’s Union Square Market Pullover–the cover sweater. I admit I’m not entirely convinced about the little foldover/button deal, but the structure of the piece calls out to me. Love those sleeves!

tivoli –> picovoli

Grumperina’s published her Tivoli T in multiple sizes via Mag Knits, renaming the piece the Picovoli. I suppose it’s really only a Picovoli if you add the option picot edge. I think mine will be picot-free.

Interestingly, the directions from before were for a finished bust of 31″ and you cast on 144 stitches. Now the finished bust of 32″ requires 136 stitches? Something isn’t computing for me here.

baby cardigan: nearly done

I went out on the deck to get some shots with good light, and got perhaps a little carried away. This is not a finshed garmet, after all. But it looks so cute! Here you can see the shot that’s in the book, which was actually my inspiration for the little cutaway. In the book, it looks as if it falls away to the sides, despite there being no apparent shaping at the edges. But it’s all deception and lies, really :) I covered the baby’s face because, well, it looks a little crazed.
