scatterbrained

Guess what I discovered? My blogiversary was, um, back in May. May 30. I had it in my head that the anniversary was in July! The purchase of pepperknit.com does date to July, but I didn’t even debut the new blog until August. So . . . no excuses, I missed my blogiversary, plain and simple. It’s now been two-plus years. In some ways it doesn’t seem like that long, and yet it feels as if I’ve been at it forever–can’t imagine my life without it.

Knitting, however. . . . I have not been knitting. Is it because it’s summer? Or something else? I don’t know, but though I tote unfinished socks around in my bag every day, I don’t add to the number of stitches. I’ve been busy, and that definitely gets in the way, and I’ve been Flickring, which is a time-suck beyond all others. Oh, and I’ve been fantasizing about these . . .

But I have no timeframe for unbundling these little lovelies. I need an FO, though, and fast! Will revisit some single socks and see what I can pull together. It’d be a pickmeup for me, and it would actually give me something to talk to you guys about!

I brought my second Anastasia home with me for the weekend, but have only been knitting it in the most desultory of ways. It’s just so HOT. But the sewing, she is so quick! You can make something adorable with those prints in no time. Much more instant-gratificationy than a sock. (Although you are a much faster sock knitter than I, it must be said.)

Happy blogiversary, my friend–I’m glad you’re around!

Oh so right about the time suck that is Flickr, but it’s the same as reading a magazine or watching bad TV. It’s hard to dive into a new project (such as one with the pretty fabric) unless you know you have a huge swath of time before you.

Happy blogiversary! The blogiversaries seem so easy to miss… though I *do* know mine is coming up, er, this weekend! Ack, do I throw a party? Give things away? It’s all very new to me. In other news, those fabric bundles are too pretty. I swear, one of these days I’ll learn the sewy magic. And AMEN to the COMPLETE lack of knitting progress! Who knew that the LEAST busy time of year is the unknitterliest? Sockapalooza really should be scheduled for the fall.

Happy belated blogiversary! I can’t imagine MY life with your blog. :)

What’re you going to do with that pretty fabric, huh? A quilt?

    Happy blogiversary!!

I have knitted both of your socks and I really loved both patterns. They are fun and easy to knit /read!
Come to my blog and have a look at them.

    Thanks a lot for sharing!

oh, do i sense a bag in your future? :) those fabrics are awesome — great colors, and a nice canvas-y texture. Can’t wait to see what they become.

p.s. i took myself to the adirondacks this weekend for much needed time-by-the-lake (and, coincidentally missing the insane heat in philly this week). And yes, when we took the boat to the local store, I found myself watching the gas-boy and wondering if it was worth dropping out of grad school to pump gas on the dock of a beautiful lake all summer… seemed like a good idea at the time.

Happy Blogthday, my friend! Have I ever told you that yours was the first knit blog I ever saw? I didn’t know there *was* such a thing as a knitting blog until someone sent me the link to your Mr. Pointy. You know, I think I’m going to send that person a thank you. Right now. :)

Oh, and I love, love, love those green/brown fabrics!
